The film has been produced by Swara Barse under her 'Swara Bose Productions' banner and it is said that she has invested more than Rs.1000 crore for this project and casted some top-notch actors & technicians of Bollywood for this project. The film has been shot in locations across Mumbai, Gurgaon & Panchgani. The role of 'P' has been played by Arjun Rampal. It was announced that the title of the film will be changed to "Aadmi" with a new release date on 3 October 2015, but the film was not released with the title 'Aadmi'. The makers decided to postpone the release of this film by 2 weeks and it will be released on 24 September 2015. However the movie was postponed for another week due to some last minute changes & required changes in its shooting schedule. The shoot for this movie is now completed and shooting of this movie is now complete. The film has been shot in Mumbai, Gurgaon and Panchgani. On September 24, 2015 the first look of the film was released on the official social networking page of the film Gupt. The music has been composed by Shantanu Moitra and lyrics have been penned by Swanand Kirkire. "Gupt" collected more than ₹50 crore (US$8 million) at the box office of India after its first week run. According to "Box Office India", the film collected ₹35.2 crore (US$5 million) worldwide in its lifetime theatrical run. The film completed 50 days of its run in theaters and collected 1,204,000 (US$20,000) for the producers. The movie has been released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc formats only in the country only on 24 Jan 2016. On 23 December 2015, Shweta Basu Prasad filed a case against the makers of this film for improper use of her photograph without consent and breach of trust by using her photograph for their promotional activities.
